Forest School
We believe all children have the right to outdoor education. This is both self-exploratory and organised learning, within and outside of school, regardless of ability, age, disability or finance.
Our Forest School creates an immersive, fun and educational environment where children learn to love and respect the natural world while acquiring life skills. Forest School helps children develop self-esteem and confidence, as well as personal and social skills outdoors. It provides a valuable environment in which children can develop a strong, positive relationship with the natural world.
What happens at Forest School?
The outdoor learning activities have been developed by experienced, professional external providers - Forest Adventurers.
Activities are designed to be suitable to children at different Key Stages and to focus on different curricular topics. They range from our youngest children being introduced to environments such as our school field and nature park, to a variety of outdoor classroom activities including:
- Woodland mini-beast hunt
- Building a bug hotel
- Flower crowns
- Den building
- Whittling activities
- Building a campfire
All the Forest School activities are fully risk-assessed to ensure children are safe at all times.
