Schools Minister ‘Massively Impressed’ by Westgate Hill Primary Academy During World Book Day Visit

Schools minister Robin Walker praised Westgate Hill Primary Academy, a member of the Laidlaw Schools Trust, for their fast turnaround from inadequate to outstanding during his World Book Day visit.
Mr Walker said he is “massively impressed” by Westgate Hill Primary Academy, which transformed from inadequate and placed into special measures in 2016, to outstanding in all categories of assessment in 2021.
“What has been really exciting to see is the way in which pupils and teachers are all very proud of their school and the facilities they have got, but more importantly they are proud of what they are learning and teaching,”—Mr Walker commented.
