Westgate Hill Primary Academy - Jul 12
Our Pupil Parliament visited the Civic Centre on Thursday. We found out what happens inside the council chambers and heard all about the processes of local government. We also met the new Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Councillor Henry Gallagher. We looked around the Silver Gallery where we found out facts about precious objects that have been given to the city of Newcastle. Mehmed and Maryam even got to dress up as the Lord Mayor and Sheriff! We had a fantastic time, and even enjoyed an ice cream before heading back to school!
