School Council

At Westgate Hill we have a ‘Smart School Council.’ Every child in KS1 and KS2 contributes to our Smart School Council. Every class takes part in ‘Class Meetings’ where they debate a question and vote on their answer. Each child that has an idea to make our school even better can share their ideas in our green suggestion boxes.

Our ‘Communications Team’ plays a huge part in the running of our ‘Smart School Council.’ Children are elected by volunteering themselves in their classes and saying why they would like to be part of the council and what skills they think they can bring to the role. The class then vote for who they want to represent them. There are various roles within our Communications Team:

• Staff liaison
• Poster maker
• Suggestion box checker
• Headteacher updater
• Website/social media updater

This is our new Communications Team for 2022-23:

Year 1 – Charlie, Adam, Zenia and Krishika.

Year 2 – Aizah, Abdul Ahad, Nali and Sienna.

Year 3 – Chimamanda, Mohammed, Samreen and Zaira.

Year 4 – Tybba, Mirha, Abdulrahman and Ayra.

Year 5 – Amaya, Mitchel and Seerat.

Year 6 – Zunairah, Muhammad, Marisa and Holy.
